Day 01 – Arrival → Sinharaja Rainforest
Route: Bandaranaike International Airport → Sinharaja (via Ratnapura)
Distance: Approx. 170 km
Driving Time: 4.5 – 5 hours


Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your naturalist guide.
Proceed to Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Sri Lanka’s last viable primary tropical rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Check-in at eco-lodge near forest entrance (3-night stay).

Day 02 – Full Day Birding in Sinharaja
Activities: Early morning + afternoon rainforest trails
Walking Level: Moderate Forest trekking
Full-day guided birding inside primary lowland rainforest.
Target mixed-species feeding flocks and endemic specialists.

DAY 03 – Sinharaja (Deep Forest Session)

Day 04 – Sinharaja → Udawalawe
Distance: Approx. 120 km
Driving Time: 3 – 3.5 hours
Drive to Udawalawe National Park.
Check-in hotel (1 night stay).
Afternoon Jeep Safari (3–4 hrs)
Habitat: Open grassland, scrub jungle, reservoir ecosystem.

Day 05 – Udawalawe → Tissamaharama

- Agricultural fields & scrub habitats
Excellent for waterbirds and raptors.

Day 06 – Yala Safari → Nuwara Eliya
Early Morning Safari at Yala National Park
Habitat: Dry forest, lagoons, scrubland.


Key Wildlife:
- Leopard (high density zone)
- Sloth Bear
- Asian Elephant
- Mugger Crocodile
- Waterbirds & shorebirds
After lunch drive to Nuwara Eliya.
Distance: Approx. 175 km
Driving Time: 4.5 – 5 hours (scenic hill climb)
Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 07 – Horton Plains National Park
Route: Nuwara Eliya → Horton Plains National Park
Distance: 30 km
Driving Time: 1 hour
Early departure to high elevation cloud forest (2,100m).


Highland Endemics:
- Yellow-eared Bulbul
- Sri Lanka Whistling Thrush
- Sri Lanka Wood Pigeon
- Sri Lanka Bush Warbler
- Sri Lanka White-eye

- Sambar (very common)

Afternoon optional visit to Hakgala Botanical Gardens.
Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 08 – Nuwara Eliya → Kitulgala
En route visit tea factory.
Distance: Approx. 80 km
Driving Time: 2.5 – 3 hours
Arrive in Kitulgala — lowland wet zone forest habitat.
Afternoon birding in riverine forest.


Target Species:
- Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot
- Crimson-fronted Barbet
- Sri Lanka Hill Myna
- Green-billed Coucal
- Chestnut-backed Owlet
Overnight in Kitulgala.
Day 09 – Kitulgala → Airport
Morning birding session.
Late afternoon transfer to airport hotel near Bandaranaike International Airport.

Driving Time: 2.5 – 3 hours
Overnight near airport.


Day 10 – Departure
Breakfast at Hotel.
Early transfer to airport for departure.
